A day at work for me normally includes going through checklists, filling oil on machinery and monitoring the production of my department. This includes watching and correcting temperatures and speed of the factory. Also taking multiple type product samples which are analysed once per hour, to make sure the product produced is of best quality!

Some of my work tasks include overseeing the controls for the fish production lines, health and safety of the staff and the safe use of machinery, ensuring that all staff are wearing their personal protective equipment, training new staff members, cleaning to the highest standard and helping to tally when we have freezer boats.

I’m quite competitive and enjoy a challenge. For example, during the herring season we try to beat records for roe collection each day and increase the number of tubs produced. It's hard work but good fun!

A typical day at work for me is to navigate the ship safely and have close collaboration with our suppliers and the logistic team onshore.

As the Captain on board, my task is to be the leader of the ship and the company’s representative onboard. My job is to plan the voyage, oversee loading and discharge operations and make sure the crew and ship are safe. I also take part in deck tasks such as loading and unloading of raw material and cleaning on deck.

My tasks consist of emptying the freezers, using the palletiser to knock out the cartons from the frozen racks, refuelling the forklifts, and transferring pallets of packaging to the glue room to be made into cartons.

My tasks cover system maintenance, project management, planning, user support, documentation, implementing new companies to our systems, having a relation to our IT vendors, training, and development for end-users.

A typical day includes collaborating with users and my team on various projects to improve the use of systems, addressing user issues, and trying to find best solutions for the users in Dynamics 365 and related systems. Occasionally I also get to travel to different locations to meet end users.

I have a lot of different work tasks that range from doing analysis, control rounds, loading and unloading boats, trailer maintenance, and writing reports. But the most important work task is starting, stopping, and operating the factory by regulating and adjusting to get the right quality of the product.
